AURISINA EDUCATIONAL PATH – UČNA POT NABREŽINA
A journey into the past of the Karst territory.

The Učna pot Nabrežina, or translated, the “Aurisina educational path”, offers this and much more. It is a 6 kms circular itinerary created by the teachers and students of the slovenian middle school named after “Igo Gruden” located in Aurisina. The journey begins right at the school. From there you can continue on the Fishermen’s Trail towards the sea and enjoy the breathtaking view of the gulf. The route continues towards the Karst, offering fresh air and a lot of tranquility among the woods and the typical Mediterranean nature. After that the landscape becomes more urban, reaching the village of Aurisina. Then you’ll be able to admire rural landscapes between agricultural fields and vineyards. The itinerary finishes of course an the initial stage.

Following the trail you’ll come across 11 points of interest representing our territory and its inhabitants. Among these we can mention the Liburnia lookout, the monument dedicated to the slovenian poet Igo Gruden, the military cemetery dating back to the First World War and the Lišček valley. Each of these is marked by a number from 1 to 11 based on their position on the itinerary. The teachers and students have also published a Guide to the Aurisina educational path that can be bought or borrowed at the local library. The map of the entire trail is available also online on the website Wandermap.net.
